Matamata Primary School is located in the heart of the Waikato, a town overlooked by the Kaimai Ranges and surrounded by rivers that flow through rolling green hills. Here we have created a nurturing environment that enables our children to learn and prosper across all aspects of education and development. Our guiding principles centre on our motto ‘Endeavour, Achieve Excel – Tohenga, Taea, Tino Hira. BALLOT 3 - TERM 3 2025

We will be holding our Ballot for Term 3 for OUT OF ZONE students on Monday 14 July at 3pm.
Even if you have children at the school but live outside of the zone, your younger children will need to be balloted in to secure a place at MPS. Ballot forms are available from the school office and must be accompanied by your child's birth certificate and sibling's birth certificate (if they have siblings at school).

We have spaces available for the following;
Year 0/New Entrant 10 spaces (turning 5 between 28 April - 15 December 2025)
Year 1 4 spaces (turning 5 between 1 January - 28 April 2026)
Year 2 No spaces available
Year 3 4 Spaces available
Year 4, 5 & 6 No spaces available

Ice blocks

12 Jun 2025

Next Wednesday, at our Matariki afternoon, the school leaders will be selling ice blocks. They will cost $2 each and will be sold in each syndicate area between 12:30pm-12:45pm.
All money raised from the ice blocks will go towards the Cage Soccer project.
