we lay the foundations of progress.

 

 

At Matamata Primary School we offer a range of learning opportunities for students to develop skills and understanding in all areas as well as establishing life skills to develop a well rounded child. We have varying classroom environments which cater for diverse learning needs.  At Matamata Primary School we encourage our children to explore and create, developing their oral language, negotiation and critical thinking skills while learning how to work collaboratively with each other.

In addition to our core learning programmes Matamata Primary School offers a range of other specialist modules and learning opportunities which are implemented by specialist teachers and supported by teacher aides and volunteers including:

• Early intervention programmes – Learning Matters specialist literacy, ESOL.
• Representative sports tournaments for many sporting codes.
• Performing arts – school band, choir, annual school production, Jump Jam.
• Kapa haka and waiata.
• Optional after school classes – guitar, art.
• EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) opportunities including school camps.
• We continue to review our additional learning opportunities and ensure that we offer new and exciting options for our students!
