Today your child will have come home with an MPS Olympic Challenge sheet like the one attached. 

Chris and his team at Evolve Fitness have got on board to create a fun challenge to align with the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics as well as training for the MPS Cross Country later this term. 

All information about the challenge is on the sheet, however here are a few extra points to note:

- The challenge is completely optional, there is no requirement for every student to complete this. 

- As the parent, once your child has completed one of the challenges at home, you can sign your initials in the box. 

- Students only need to complete one of the challenges at school run by Evolve Fitness, the times of the challenges are listed on the sheet. These will also be on the notices at school to remind students. 

- Students will need to complete the at school challenge run by Waikato Rugby if they aim to complete all 16 challenges, the times of the challenge are listed on the sheet. The first one is for Years 0-3 this Monday lunchtime. More information will be on the notices at school to remind students also. Please note this won't be a 'rugby' session, more games and fun activities.

- If your child doesn't have the exact equipment at home to complete a challenge, such as a football then they can improvise and use something similar. 

- Challenge sheets can be shown to Mrs Muckle 10, Mrs Bateman, Miss Greenwell or Miss Johnson once 8 have been completed to receive a free Evolve sticker. 

- Some epic prizes can be won at our Olympics Closing Ceremony in Week 4 by completing some or all of the challenge sheet. Prizes include Sportsworld vouchers, Evolve Jibbitz, Hoodies, Medals and more!

- All challenge sheets need to be back at school on Monday 12th August if students want to go in the draw for prizes (see the sheet for prize criteria).

Final helpers and donations needed for the Community Op Shop this week. By helping or donating your items you’re helping MPS raise funds for additional learning resources and opportunities as well as having the opportunity to pick up a few bargains!

We need a few more volunteers from this Saturday 27 July to Friday 2 August and we would be incredibly thankful for any help you can give.

We are also asking for donations of quality, good condition items. You can drop off anytime the shop is open after this Saturday.

Final shifts to fill:
- 27 July: Saturday 9am to 1pm x3 people
- 29 July: Monday 12pm - 3pm
- 30 July: Wednesday 9am - 12pm x3 people
- 30 July: Wednesday 12pm - 3pm x2 people

This is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year, and is always a fun thing to be involved with. Volunteers help put out stock, sort and stack items and do basic customer service duties.

This Friday we will be having our school Olympics Opening Ceremony. 
We encourage all of our students to dress up in their country colours - please ask them what country their class is representing if you haven’t already been told.

Throughout the next 3 weeks we will be having lots of fun events happening around school (and home) based around the Olympics and more information about these will be coming soon. 

We look forward to seeing a sea of colour at school on Friday!
